Harding Loevner

Pradipta Chakrabortty is a co-lead portfolio manager of the Emerging Markets Equity strategy, and an analyst of frontier emerging markets. He joined Harding Loevner in 2008 and is a Partner of the firm with over 20 years of experience. His prior industry experience includes serving as a summer analyst at Templeton Capital Advisors and Cornerstone Investment Partners. He also worked for a number of years in marketing and brand management for GlaxoSmithKline, Vodafone Essar, and General Mills. Pradipta is a graduate of BIRLA Institute of Technology & Science with a degree in Engineering, XLRI School of Management with an MBA in Finance & Marketing, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA in Finance.

Uday Cheruvu is a member of the portfolio management team for the International Equity Strategy. He is also an Information Technology and Communication Services analyst. He has over 20 years of industry experience. Before joining Harding Loevner in 2020, he served as a portfolio manager and investment analyst of global equities at PM Capital. He has also served as an associate at Affinity Equity Partners and an investment banking analyst at Credit Suisse. Uday is a University of Melbourne alumnus, with a BEng in software engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce, and he holds an MA in applied finance from Macquarie University. He is also a CFA^® charterholder.

Sean Contant is a member of the portfolio management team for the Global Equity strategy. He is also an Industrials analyst. Sean joined Harding Loevner in 2011 and is a partner of the firm, having previously served as an investment associate, a research associate, and an associate analyst. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BBA in finance and operations management. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Scott Crawshaw is Chief of Staff, Investments; a co-lead portfolio manager of the Emerging Markets Equity Strategy and an analyst of emerging markets companies. He is a partner of the firm and has over 20 years of industry experience. Before joining Harding Loevner in 2014, he worked for 10 years at London-based Russell Investments as a senior portfolio manager and research analyst of emerging markets equities. He has also worked at ISIS Asset Management as a fund manager for global emerging market equities, and at Bacon and Woodrow in its London Investment Division. Scott graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc in mathematics.

Sergey Dubin is a co-lead portfolio manager of the Frontier Emerging Markets Equity strategy and a Frontier Markets analyst. He is a partner of the firm and has over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Harding Loevner in 2015, he worked as a research analyst/senior research analyst at Armor Capital Management and Consilium Investment Management. From 1997 to 2007, Dubin worked at Palisade Capital Management and was Vice President of Private Equity Investments. Dubin also previously worked for Bear, Stearns & Co. as a financial analyst. He holds a BS in finance from the M.J. Whitman School of Management and a BS in economics from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, both at Syracuse University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Lee is a portfolio manager for Emerging Markets equity and China analyst. He joined the firm in 2020 as an analyst initially focusing on Chinese companies before more widely covering Emerging Markets companies, a role that he will continue to serve. He has over 16 years of investment experience, including most recently as a portfolio manager of the Imprint Emerging Markets strategy at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Before then, Lee worked at Asia equity specialists Joho Capital and Greyson Capital Management, as well as at J.P. Morgan. He is a graduate of Harvard College with an A.B. in Economics.

Samuel Hosseini is a member of the portfolio management team for the International Small Companies Equity strategy. He is also a Health Care and Consumer Discretionary analyst. Samuel joined Harding Loevner in 2017 and previously served as a research associate and an associate analyst. Samuel has over a decade of industry experience; before joining Harding Loevner, he worked in Health Care equity research at Canaccord Genuity and served in executive, senior associate, and associate positions at Ernst & Young LLP. He graduated from Imperial College London with a BS in biology with management. He is a CFA charterholder and an Associate Chartered Accountant.

Jingyi Li is a co-lead portfolio manager for the Global Equity Strategy and an analyst of Chinese, and Industrials companies. He is a partner of the firm and has more than 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Harding Loevner in 2010, Jingyi worked at New China Capital Management, China International Economics Consultants, and Accenture. Jingyi holds a BA in International Trade from Shanghai Jiaotong University and an MBA in Finance from the Yale School of Management.

Tunde Ojo is a co-lead portfolio manager of the Frontier Emerging Markets Equity Strategy and an analyst of frontier markets and financial companies. He is also a portfolio manager on Emerging Markets Equity. He is a partner of the firm and has over 15 years of experience. Before starting at Harding Loevner in 2012, Tunde worked as an equity research analyst and portfolio manager at Asset & Resource Management Company in Nigeria and as a global research analyst intern at American Century Investments. He also previously served as an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a banking officer at Intercontinental Bank in Nigeria. Tunde is a graduate of the University of Lagos with a BS in biochemistry, of Imperial College, University of London with an MSc in food chain management, and of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA in finance & management. He is also a CFA^® charterholder.

Jafar Rizvi is the co-lead portfolio manager for the International Small Companies Equity strategy and an Information Technology and small companies analyst. Jafar is a partner of the firm and has over 25 years of experience. Before joining Harding Loevner in 2008, he was a senior analyst at Cohen, Klingenstein & Marks, where he also followed the Information Technology and Telecom Services sectors. He previously worked as an analyst at Franklin Templeton, Sands Brothers & Co., and Deutsche Bank. Jafar is a graduate of Aligarh University with a BA in Economics, J Nehru University with an MA in Economics, Baruch College with an MBA in Computer Information Systems, and Columbia University with an MPA in International Economic Policy and Management. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Ferrill Roll is the Chief Investment Officer of Harding Loevner LP and a member of the Executive Committee. He is also a co-lead portfolio manager of the International Equity Strategy and a Financials analyst. Roll joined Harding Loevner in 1996 and is a partner of the firm. He has over 35 years of industry experience across a wide range of international markets. Prior to joining Harding Loevner, he served as portfolio manager and general partner of Cesar Montemayor Capital, L.P., a global investment partnership investing in fixed income, currency, and equity markets. He also worked in international equity sales at First Boston and Barings Securities. Roll began his career at JP Morgan, where he established the currency options trading department and advised corporate clients on foreign exchange markets. Roll graduated from Stanford University in 1980 with a BA in economics and is a CFA® charterholder.

Richard Schimdt is a co-lead portfolio manager of the Global Equity Strategy and a Consumer Staples analyst. Rick joined Harding Loevner in 2011, is a partner of the firm and has over 30 years of experience in emerging markets research and portfolio management, including 15 years with Asian specialist Jardine Fleming and its corporate successor JP Morgan Asset Management, for which he served as managing director until 2005. Immediately prior to joining Harding Loevner, Rick served as chief investment officer at Oranda Capital Management. He began his career in Hong Kong with Winfull, Laing & Cruickshank, where he was a research analyst for two years before moving to BT Brokerage to serve as vice president. He graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in foreign service and is a CFA^® charterholder.

Moon Surana is a portfolio manager for the Global Equity Strategy. She is a Financials and Information Technology analyst. Moon is a Partner of the firm. She has over 10 years of industry experience, having joined Harding Loevner as a research associate in 2009 and assumed analyst responsibilities in 2011. Prior to joining Harding Loevner, she worked as a software engineer at Infosys Technologies Limited. Moon is a graduate of the Manipal Institute of Technology with a BE in electronics & communications, and the University of Michigan with an MS in financial engineering. She is a CFA® charterholder.

Patrick Todd is a portfolio manager for the International Equity Strategy and oversees the closely related International Developed Markets Equity Strategy; he is also an analyst of Health Care companies. He is a partner of the firm and has over 15 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Harding Loevner in 2012, he worked as a research analyst at Gabelli & Company and Ironbound Capital. He holds a BA in biochemical sciences from Harvard University and an MBA in applied value investing from Columbia Business School. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Anix Vyas is a co-lead portfolio manager for the International Small Companies Equity strategy and an Industrials and Materials analyst. He is also a portfolio manager on Global Small Companies Equity. He is a partner of the firm and has over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Harding Loevner in 2013, he served as an equity analyst at GAMCO Investors, formerly Gabelli Asset Management Company. He previously worked at Amerigas as Manager of Operations and Corporate Development and as an accountant at Bear, Stearns & Company and The Mony Group. Anix holds a BS/BA in Finance and Accounting and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a CFA^® charterholder.

Andrew West is a co-lead portfolio manager for the International Equity Strategy, and a Consumer Discretionary and Industrials analyst. He is a partner of the firm and has over 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Harding Loevner in 2006, Andrew worked at Standard & Poor’s Equity Research, Veitia & Associates, and International Assets Advisory Corp. Andrew holds a BS in business administration/finance from the University of Central Florida and an MBA in finance and international business from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
